Garrett Olson had a phenomenal outing, but the Bisons offense and a late-inning error doomed the Bisons in their 2-0 series opening loss.
Garrett Olson had his best outing of the season, going seven innings allowing one run on two hits, walking one and striking out seven. Olson was consistently coaxing weak contact and getting the strikeout when he needed it. Robert Carson came out to pitch the final two innings and was just as good, allowing one hit and one walk in two innings while striking out two. The second run scored in the ninth inning when a throwing error by Mike Nickeas on a passed ball allowed a run to score.
The bullpen didn’t need much today, and after an early adjustment to Triple-A by Robert Carson, he has begun to settle in and is proving his value to the big club for 2013.
