Floyd_gavin_1_article

Sox interest in lower-profile pitchers continue as White Sox RHP, Gavin Floyd has been mentioned in rumors around Fenway.

According to a tweet by Jon Morosi, the Red Sox have shown interest in White Sox starter Gavin Floyd.

The 28-year-old went 12-13 with a 4.37 ERA in 30 starts for Chicago last season.

Floyd has only one winning season which came in 2008, and it was an impressive one. Floyd went 17-8, with a 3.84 ERA in 206.1 IP, all good for career best numbers. All seasons following were not terrible declines, just less impressive with a lot of consistency (in a good way). We'll wait to see if this materializes.

Chicago White Sox’ Dayan Viciedo will need to show worth

Since the White Sox traded previous right fielder Carlos Quentin a few weeks ago, the 22 year-old Viciedo has basically secured the position in right. The young player came up to the majors on August 28th of the 2011 season and the fact that he didn’t arrive...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOO! Ozzie Guillen Turns 48 Today

Ballertainment If you know The Lady GM, you know I am a HUGE fan of Miami Marlin’s skipper Ozzie Guillen. I’m still in mourning over his ousting from my beloved White Sox, but my adoration for him lives strong. He has been my boo since his South Side playing days in a Chicago White Sox uniform (I used to go to the ball park for $1 on Ladies Day), and years later when...

Quick Hits: Motte, Cespedes, Garcia, Angels

On this date last year, the White Sox selected Philip Humber off of waivers from the Athletics. The right-hander posted a 3.75 ERA with 6.4 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9 in 163 innings in 2011 and projects to start for Chicago in 2012. We didn't see anyone claimed on waivers today, but we do have these links... A multiyear deal between the Cardinals and Jason Motte is ‘in play,...
