MILWAUKEE -- Matt Cain outpitched Yovani Gallardo for his first win in more than six weeks, and the Giants beat the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 Saturday.
Juan Uribe homered to spark a two-run rally in the fourth inning, and San Francisco won for the sixth time in eight games. The Giants began the day one game behind Colorado for the National League wild card. The Rockies hosted Arizona later.
Cain (13-4) gave up four hits and pitched into the eighth inning, matching his career high for wins after going seven starts without one.
On Sunday, San Francisco will try to sweep the Brewers at Miller Park for the first time in nearly five years.
