Monkey with a Halo:
The June 20th, 2013 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including a whole bunch of stories on how much Josh Hamilton sucks and much more...
The Story: All Josh Hamilton can say regarding his struggles is, "It's been weird, man."
The Monkey Says: He also goes on to say how that he is frustrated and down about his ongoing issues, so all you trolls out there who insist that Josh "just doesn't care" can finally shut up. By the way, Hamilton is pretty much all we are focusing on today because nobody cared to write anything else Angels-related yesterday.
The Story: If fans think Josh Hamilton doesn't care, they are "mistaken."
The Monkey Says: Well, I guess that makes the whole "caring" thing a little more clear.
The Story: Taking small pleasure in Josh Hamilton's struggles.
The Monkey Says: Surprisingly, this is from Rob Neyer and not a Rangers fan.
The Story: Josh Hamilton was the second player since 1916 to have no hits, two strikeouts and three GIDPs in one game.
The Monkey Says: Hey, look, everyone! Josh Hamilton is making history! Yay!
The Story: Umpire John Hirschbeck's unfair strike zone on left-handed batters deserves some of the blame for Hamilton's poor night on Tuesday.
The Monkey Says: Please don't. Hamilton makes up enough excuses on his own, let's not enable his behavior.
The Story: The contract do-overs of the AL West.
The Monkey Says: Do you take Pujols or Hamilton? I understand the impulse to re-do Pujols, but I actually lean towards Hamilton who looks to be irreparably broken whereas Pujols has shown signs of rebounding. Plus I actually believe him when he says he will retire once he realizes he can't compete anymore, so there is a chance of getting the cake and eating it too.
The Story: Ryan Madson gives the full details on his rehab and the lack of progress.
The Monkey Says: Sorry, had to have something non-Hamilton related. This piece though pretty much tells you all you need to know about how desperate Madson's situation is. If he had a plasma-rich platelet injection and still is feeling pain, he's boned.

Faith is a funny thing. For some it defines who they are as a person. It serves as the guiding principle of their entire life. For others, it is a crutch, a convenient excuse, a self-defense mechanism. In a lot of cases, it is both of those things for one person and there is no better example of that than Josh Hamilton.
We all know that Josh Hamilton is a man of great faith....
Last night in Anaheim, Josh Hamilton had a really bad game. In five trips to the plate, he hit into three double plays, and in the two at-bats where he didn’t make two outs, he struck out, including a ninth inning strikeout with the winning run in scoring position. For the day, he finished with a -.48 WPA, so while he didn’t single handedly cost them the game, he was the primary...
The award for the most creative stadium giveaway this season goes to the Los Angeles Angels. On Tuesday, the Angels gave away mesh hats featuring a fish protruding from the center in honor of All-Star center fielder Mike Trout. How awesome is that, folks?A big round of applause goes to the team's marketing department for coming up with the clever idea. The fashionable cap sure...
We’ll continue our look at the ten fantasy baseball trade hounds you may or may not want to find yourself in negotiations with this season. Every league has that dude that sends you a low-ball offer for Mike Trout, or maybe worse the guy who gives Mike Trout away for next to nothing because he just got back from his two year cruise in Aruba. We've all interacted with one at...
C.J. Wilson pitched two-hit ball for seven innings, Mike Trout scored the only run on a wild pitch by Joe Saunders and the Los Angeles Angels edged the Seattle Mariners 1-0 Wednesday night.
Wilson (6-5) struck out three, walked two and allowed only two runners as far as second base en route to his fifth straight victory over the Mariners.
Trout legged out a leadoff double in the...

GAME 68 - ANGELS AT CARDINALS
ST. LOUIS -- The Angels starting pitchers are a tight group. Beginning in spring training, they went to dinner together, talked pitching together and simply spent a lot of time together.
And in the last week or so, they've pitched poorly together.
Wednesday it was Aaron Sele...
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- C.J. Trout legged...
Josh Hamilton grounded into three double plays and struck out the other two times he came to the plate. Mike Trout did everything he could to will his team's offense into something resembling legitimacy. Instead, he was anchored at first, with Scioscia failing to employ his favorite (until this year) offensive tactic of activating his speedy base runners.
This off-season has proved how hit-or-miss the free agent and trade market can be from year to year. While some guys are still up in the air, like Pujols and Hamilton, some have already brought in more than enough return to justify their signing. One of those Dipoto moves that have proved to be immeasurably productive for the Angels is the Jason Vargas trade.
Jerry Dipoto has...
“One thing I’ll always knows, is that you’ll never know what will happen in baseball. Today, I’m wearing a hat with a fish on it.” – Reuben, the usher to the Angel Stadium press box.
Well, it seemed like that quote was true, as tonight, four solo home runs, and extra inning heroics were the final offensive factor in tonight’s 3-2 victory for the Seattle Mariners, over...

GAME 69 - ANGELS AT CARDINALS
ST. LOUIS -- Troy Percival knows Jim Edmonds well. So well, the Angels closer wasn't about to challenge his friend and former teammate with the game on the line.
With a one-run lead and the potential tying run on third base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Percival walked...
A split is good. Offending the wife of a Reds pitcher is a close second. @CatLatos @shamtown is that douche for real? And his douche friend? Jesus. — Dallas Latos (@DallasLatos) June 21, 2013 She got one thing right though. I’m cool as a frozen cucumber. @shamtown @CatLatos you wouldn’t, rich. You’re so cool. —…
This week’s Foul Paul! is dedicated to a reader who commented on one of our more recent posts saying “You guys might do better if you do more Buy/Sell and Waiver Wire posts rather than this silly stuff.”At the risk of being unique from the 5,000 other fantasy baseball sites, I immediately realized my mistake and have gone back to the drawing board. Let’s leave the creativity...
Pirates (43-30) at Angels (33-40)
10:05 PM–Angel Stadium, Anaheim
Tonight the Bucs begin a series in Anaheim, as they take on the Angels for the first time in over half a decade. Much like their crosstown counterparts, the Angels have flopped for most of the season after yet another big offseason. They’ve got the fearsome trio of Mike Trout, Albert Pujols...
