hamels has all the tools to be a dominate pitcher for ten years. phillies are idiots for doin this, its just not neccessary.
Stop me if you've heard this one before. A player on the Phillies, coming off a solid season, has his contract renewed for way below what he believes he deserves, and he's upset by it. Sounds like Ryan Howard's situation. It's also the situation Cole Hamels has found himself in.
The Phillies renewed Hamels' contract, paying him $500,000 for this season, and Hamels calls the move a "low blow".

ridiculous move by the phillies. hamels is the best pitcher in our arsenal since steve carlton, keep the man happy, and keep him in town for LIFE

i think what the phillies did to ryan howard is a lower blow. imagine how it would feel if cole won the cy young last year?
