Cole Hamels threw a five-hit shutout at the Atlanta Braves in a 3-0 win Tuesday night. It took him 111 pitches, two hours and 16 minutes to finish his first complete game since Game 3 of the 2010 National League division series. He struck out six and walked none to improve to 12-6. Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee combined have two wins at Citizen’s Bank Park. Halladay has both wins. Hamels is the shining star on the staff. The show stopper. The money man. All the offense was gotten in the first inning off a Domonic Brown double and Ryan Howard home run. Cliff Lee would have left the game tied or lost it. Roy Halladay would have given up a run or two. Not Hamels. Not this year. Hamels was worth every cent of the $144 million he inked two weeks ago. All that money for a guy who has never gotten more than 15 wins in a season. Nunber one, he is left handed. Number two, he had 11 wins when he signed the contract. He could sleep walk to 17 wins by the end of the season and taken his money else...
