Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton was hospitalized with an intestinal virus early Friday morning and will miss Friday night's game against the Houston Astros, ESPN Dallas reported. Hamilton, who leads the major leagues in home runs and RBI, is expected to be released from the hospital by Saturday morning. Club officials believe Hamilton got the virus from his wife and children, who have also been dealing with the virus. The Rangers called up outfielder Leonys Martin from Class AAA Round Rock to start in place of Hamilton. To make room for Martin, Texas placed right-handed pitcher Koji Uehara on the 15-day disabled list with a right lat strain. The Rangers will have to make another roster move Saturday when pitcher Justin Grimm is called up from Class AA Frisco to start against the Astros. Hamilton also missed three games against the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this year because of an upper respiratory illness. Hamilton is hitting .330 with 22 home runs and 62 RBI. ...
