It was a tale of two sesons for Mike Minor
You wonder if Mike Minor has always the shaft because his birthday is just after Christmas? I’m sure he gets a lot of “combo” gifts, that is one gift that is supposed to be for both Christmas and his birthday. But he makes $482,500 a year so he’s probably got the new iPad Mini anyway. What do you even get a guy that has everything?!?!
Here’s the stuff: Minor throws his four-seam fastball more than half the time and it sits in the low 90s. Then he mixes in a slider (83–86), a changeup (82–84), and a 12–6 curveball (77–80). He’s learning to mix his pitches much better, becoming a more mature pitcher.
Here’s a fun fact: Minor played at Vanderbilt University with fellow major leaguers Pedro Alvarez and David Price, all of whom were first round draft picks.
