Happy Felix Day! Mariners win big over Astros 7-1
What a day. What a day! Felix Hernandez struck out 9 in 6 shutout innings while notching his 100th career victory as visiting Seattle beat Houston in the opener of a three-game series.
Slow starting Kyle Seager went 2-for-5 and extended his hitting streak to 11 games. Franklin Gutierrez exited after four innings with hamstring tightness and will be evaluated Tuesday. Geoff Baker tweeted post game that we can most likely expect an Eric Thames call-up.

MLB News: The Seattle Mariners recalled outfielder Carlos Peguero from Triple-A Tacoma to take the roster spot of outfielder Franklin Gutierrez who was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right hamstring.
