The Mets won yesterday! The Mets won the day before that! The Mets won the day before that as well! That’s right, we are on a three game winning streak folks! Anyway the Mets look to extend their streak to four games tonight as they play the Phillies after scoring runs late yesterday to take the game from the Phils. Tonight Matt Harvey gets the start against Cole Hamels.
Matt Harvey is 2-3 this season with a 2.75 ERA over 6 games and 36 innings with 43 K’s. In his last three starts, he has allowed only 4ER and 9 hits over 19.2 innings and 20 K’s. Since this is Harvey’s 7th start of his career, he has no batting records against the Phillies since he has never played them.
With the Mets trail...
BEST OF MAXIM
Enjoy it while you can. The Mets plan to shut down Matt Harvey after 175 innings max, which is about three more starts.
While he’s been one of the bright spots to a disappointing season, I have no problem with the decision as there’s nothing to be gained by running him into the ground. If he’s as good as projected, he’ll be throwing 200-plus innings soon enough.
Matt Harvey, without having his best stuff still had a quality start against the Phillies, thanks to some key offensive contributions from Lucas Duda
Matt Harvey came out of the gate throwing his fastball often, and about as hard as Mets fans have seen in during this 2012 season. Harvey hit 99 MPH at least 5 times, and utilize that fastball for two strikeouts looking. Harvey’s...
Matt Harvey takes the mound as the Mets try to make it four in a row and tie the Phillies for third place in the division.

Who says the Mets had no talent at Triple-A Buffalo this year? Oh, right. This guy. He’s wrong.
A duel between two AAA All-Stars on Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park turned on the bat of a man who recently returned from there. Lucas Duda mashed a two-run homer in the third inning — his first since returning from a stint at Buffalo – and Matt Harvey made it stand up, outdueling...
The Phillies dropped their second straight to the New York Mets, losing 3-2. Tyler Cloyd pitched well, but was out-dueled by fellow rookie Matt Harvey.
CLOYD IMPRESSIVE DURING DEBUT
-Tyler Cloyd made the “emergency start” due to Cole Hamels’ illness. Cloyd was called up, and pitched fairly well in his debut. He went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. He...
Final: Mets 3, Phillies 2.
Harvey (3-3, 2.76 ERA) LP: Tyler Cloyd (0-1, 4.50 ERA) SV: Frank Francisco (22

today, the Phillies scratched Cole Hamels from his start due to an illness. In
order to fill that spot, they soon called up Tyler Cloyd, a AAA pitcher who had
been cruising through the minor leagues this season.

Hello everybody and welcome to another sunshine-filled day of Mets baseball. We hope our friends in New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast are safe and sound as Hurricane Isaac continues to swarm. Meanwhile, the weather in the Northeast couldn’t be better as the Mets try to take another from the Phillies tonight.
Last night New York came from behind not once, but twice in...
As previously posted, Tyler Cloyd was making his major league debut tonight. In an unexpected spot start for the young righty, the Phillies were sure glad he tossed a solid six innigs to avoid a bullpen game.
Matt Harvey, a rookie starter for the Mets surrendered a run in the top of the first, a sacrifice fly from Ryan Howard which scored Juan Pierre.
Harvey did a bit of hitting...
PHILADELPHIA -- Lucas Duda hit a go-ahead two-run homer and then preserved the lead with an excellent defensive play to back Matt Harvey and lift the New York Mets to a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night. Harvey (3-3) allowed two runs and six hits in 6 1-3 innings to help the Mets to their fourth straight victory and fifth consecutive win at Citizens Bank...

While it was refreshing to see the Mets snag four games in a row, they couldn’t come through with a sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies, losing by a count of 3-2 this afternoon.
Nonetheless, the Mets stay out of the NL East dumpster and still can claim a series win against Philadelphia heading into a last place series against the Miami Marlins this weekend.
The Mets have been beneficiaries...
