Heisey Propels Reds to Victory

Fueled by a big offensive night from Chris Heisey, the visiting Reds (78-82) sacked the host Mets (76-84) 6-5 before 28,651 fans at Citi Park. It was the first victory in five tries for Cincy against New York this season. Here's the good, the bad, the notables and the Hard Hat winner from Monday: The Good: -Heisey came through with three hits including a 3-run homer (18th of season) in the seventh to give the Reds a 6-3 advantage. -The Reds win a one-run ball game. -The Reds win on Monday for the first time in 13 weeks. They had previously been 0-9 since a win at Tampa Bay on June 27th. -Dave Sappelt walked, scored once, and had an RBI-single. He also laid down a sac bunt. -Every starter in the lineup had at least one hit with the exception of Homer Bailey. The Bad: -Bailey wasn't too sharp in his last outing of the year.
