Found April 11, 2013 on Redlegs Review:
It's time for more web gems. Yesterday you saw a great defensive play by Brandon Phillips face an amazing leaping catch at the wall by Don Kelly of the Tigers. Kelly was able to overtake the 4-time reigning web gem through fan voting. Today however, Todd Frazier has shown up to avenge the loss by Phillips and reclaim glory for Cincinnati. Frazier came up with his own nice diving grab and throw to get Yadier Molina out at first base in yesterday's game. After you watch the video evidence, you can make your verdict known by voting at this ESPN link.

Cincinnati Reds Friday Minor League Scouting Notebook

Drew Cisco I was able to watch his first start of the season. It was my first chance to see him and I came away impressed. He commanded the strikezone with four pitches. His fastball, short breaking curve, big breaking curve and change up were all pitches he could locate where the catcher wanted them. Guys his age simply can’t do things like that. A lot of Major Leaguers can...

In brief: 100 things Reds fans should know and do before they die

Last game Despite the offenseive show that the Reds have been putting on so far this season, last night’s game was a pitcher’s duel that the Cardinals won, 1-5. Bronson Arroyo had a perfect game going into the sixth, but suddenly he hit the wall and gave up 4 runs. Pinch hitter Matt Adams topped that scoring off with a home run. In the game wrap on Reds.com, Adams had this to...

1940 Life Magazine report, photo document Dodgers fan’s pummeling of ump

For anybody who believes that over the years we have become a more crass, less refined and an increasingly boorish group of fans who attend MLB games at baseball parks, think again. A 1940 report from Life Magazine documents the pummeling of umpire George Magerkurth by Brooklyn Dodgers fan Frank Gernano following a game between the Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds on Sept. 16, 1940...

Homer Bailey took a comebacker off his ankle in the the Reds' matchup against the Cardinals yesterday.  Bailey had not been performing well up to that point and was taken out...

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds – Game 9

One must assume at this point in time Jonathan Sanchez and Chris Leroux will be 1. and 1a. when some of these pitchers start to get healthy. It was pretty infuriating to me that Sanchez broke camp with the team in the first place.  If he stays much longer I just might have to take…

Going...Going...Not Gone: Catch of the Day by Detroit Tigers Utility Man Don Kelly

It was a banner day for the Detroit Tigers. They won the game over the Blue Jays, 7-3. Newcomer TOri Hunter had his 2000th hit of his career. Miguel Cabrera couldn't miss; he went 4-5 with a home run and 4 RBIs. However, as impressive as their play was my play of the day has to go to Don Kelly. If you said who that's okay. Every team has a guy like Kelly. He'...

Was Don Kelly's web gem better than that of Brandon Phillips?

Detroit Tigers left fielder Don Kelly made an outstanding leaping grab at the wall, but was it better than the web gem Brandon Phillips gave us?

Game 2013.10: Tigers at A’s

Yes, the game post picture is a mite creepy. But then again, it is a 10:00 pm EST game, and creepiness is thematically apt. Whenever the Tigers play at Oakland, there are three unavoidable questions that come to mind: 1) Will anyone stay up late enough to watch? 2) Who named O.co Coliseum, and how much would it cost to rename it? And what civil or criminal remedies are available...
