The Outside Corner:
Last week, we brought you an image of the new Astros logo. Friday night was the official launch party for the new logo and uniforms, and this is what they look like, courtesy of Cory Hepola of CSN Houston. Pretty slick, in my opinion. A nice blend of the old and the new. The shading on the cap logo is slightly different, but the logo itself is the same basic logo as what the Astros used for years throughout their history before switching to the navy and dull gold color scheme of the mid-1990s. The jerseys are crisp and clean with no distractions. Here's a picture of the uniforms actually on players, courtesy of Maury Brown from The Biz of Baseball. Houston could have done much worse, and these new jerseys are pretty distanced from the "Astros" name and space theme that the team prided itself upon before the opening of Minute Maid Park and the transition to the "train" theme. Who knows where the team will go for a theme, but the uniforms are a ste...
BEST OF MAXIM
In recent years, throwback-style uniforms have become increasingly popular among sports fans. The Houston Astros appeared to have that in mind as they designed their new uniforms.
In 2013, when the team moves to the American League, Houston will be ditching the red-and-black star and pinstriped jerseys
it has used for years. Instead, the club will give a nod to...
Not only will the Houston Astros be moving to a new division in 2013 (from the NL Central to the AL West), but they'll also be wearing new uniforms.

My reaction is pretty "meh" to these. Not bad, not great. I think I would like the home uniforms more with one of the navy hats.

The Houston Astros are moving to a new league and are looking for a fresh start and as the saying goes, "out with the old, in with the new."
Houston is definitely getting rid of the old as they prepare to move from the National League Central divison to the American League West division. But the team's new uniforms that were unveiled on Friday are...
Tweet Much of the suspense was absent due to leaks of the Houston Astros’ new logo via the team’s website and through a local sports & outdoors store, but that didn’t stop fans from turning out yesterday to see the official unveiling at Minute Maid Park. 2012 All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve, outfielder Justin [...]
Alright, it's not injury news. But it's cool. Take a look at the Houston Astros place in what will be next year's American League West:
And in addition to the league change, the Astros have switched up their uniforms. Go ahead and check them out at Astros.com.
The Houston Astros have hired Eduardo Perez as bench coach and Dennis Martinez as bullpen coach to complete the staff of new manager Bo Porter.
Martinez was a pitching coach in the Cardinals system for the last six seasons. He was a four-time All-Star and threw a perfect game in a playing career from 1976-98.
Perez is the manager of the Colombian team in the World Baseball Classic...
It is no secret that the Houston Astros love changing things up when it comes to the design of their logo and uniforms. From the early days of the Colt .45s with “Turk” Farrell and Rusty Staub to the magnificent blue, orange and yellow days with Nolan Ryan and Mike Scott to the blue and gold of Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio to the more recent red and black of Lance Berkman and...
