Less than two weeks into the 2009 baseball season and the New York Mets have, again, been placed in solitary confinement.
This is familiar real estate for the Mets. The fanfare surrounding the new season, the new ballpark, the new bullpen were all discarded once the Mets dropped a handful of one-run games and blew a couple of multi-run leads. In 2009, the Mets have done the latter in six of their nine starts.
