Controversial ending brings instant replay talk

ST. LOUIS A crazy ending to the Cardinals-Royals game Friday night at Busch Stadium had players in the home clubhouse lobbying for additional instant replay to be added to the game. The Cardinals lost 3-2 when Tyler Greene was called out at home plate to end the game after attempting to score the tying run on a pair of overthrows. But the call may not have been correct. Home plate...

Matheny ejected after overturned triple play

ST. LOUIS Cardinals rookie manager Mike Matheny was ejected for the second time this season when he argued an overturned triple play in the first inning of the home team's eventual 10-7 win over the Kansas City Royals at Busch Stadium. The controversy began when Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer lined a shot up the middle with runners at first and second and no outs in the top...

Carlos Beltran Makes History by Joining 300-300 Club

With his seventh stolen base this season and the three hundredth of his career, Carlos Beltran made history on Friday night by becoming only the eighth player in Major League history to hit 300 home runs and steal 300 bases. Jason Motte Hates Your Dad

No time for pleasantries, people. We have a code red, DEFCON 3 situation on our hands and his name is Jason Motte. You guys, what is the DEAL with this asshole? I mean, no offense to the Kansas City Royals or all six of their fans, but this game today was simply embarrassing. It's Father's Day, for crying out loud! And for reasons that are frankly NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS...

New I-40 Cup to recognize Cardinals-Brewers Triple-A annual winner

As National League Central Division rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers play frequently. In fact, it is almost one-tenth of the season – 15 times in 2012. That does not include the possibility of the post-season, where the two clubs met in last year’s Championship Series. Their Triple-A clubs, the Memphis Redbirds and Nashville Sounds, also compete in the same...

Signs of Life

This week, the St. Louis Cardinals began to show what they are capable of again, at least from a pitching standpoint. But they are still a long way from right. The rotation of Adam Wainwright, Kyle Lohse, Lance Lynn, Jake Westbrook, and Joe Kelly collectively had an ERA just a shade over 2.00 this week, allowing nine earned runs over 40 innings. Lynn had the best start of his young...
