Here is the latest hot stove buzz from around MLB today: The Twins have signed Jamey Carroll to be their everyday shortstop, writes Jerry Crasnick of ESPN. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports says Carroll signed a two year, $7 million deal. Danny Knobler of CBS Sports says the Red Sox will be in on both Ryan Madson and Heath Bell. The Rockies are continuing to pursue Martin Prado, tweets Troy Renck of the Denver Post. According to Clark Spencer of USA Today, the Marlins are meeting with Albert Pujols this weekend, and Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald says the Marlins are serious about signing Pujols, and are prepared to make him a competitive offer. However, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com believes it’s more likely the Marlins sign Jose Reyes than Albert Pujols. Nolan Ryan told the Fort Worth Star Telegram the Rangers are not prepared to offer either Pujols or Prince Fielder a seven or eight year deal.
