This is purely something that I thought was a bit peculiar this week... For anyone who isn't aware, Johan Santana and Chris Young had the exact same surgery. However, Johan's was completed in September of 2010, versus Young's which done following his exit from the Mets rotation last year in May of 2011. However, this was some of the dialog from this week:Johan Santana played catch from 175 feet today. Terry Collins said he looked great, hopefully will throw off mound by the end of the week. ~Brian Costa - WSJ~Chris Young is is progressing quickly to this point. Terry Collins said Young is already throwing on flat ground at 180 feet and currently projects to be ready at the end of May. ~Adam Rubin - ESPNNY~Yes, I understand that everyone is different when it comes to rehabbing from injuries and yes, I understand that is a bit of a conspiracy theory, but why is it that Chris Young will need another three and a half months to be ready for game day action when they were...

Photo by Michael BaronOn Wednesday Adam Rubin had an injury up-date on Chris Young, the interesting part was that the up-date came from Terry Collins. At this point Young is a free agent and Collins is his former manager, it's unusual for a manager to have such an up-date on a free agent. All reports from both sides indicate that they would like a reunion and the Mets could...
After an off-season consumed by far more questions than answers the 2012 baseball season finally arrives tomorrow morning when pitchers and catchers formally report for spring training. This spring, unlike years past, brings with it little mystery for the boys in blue as both the roster and rotation appear to be set. With the exception of probably one bullpen spot and a bench position...
This is an incredible time of year for baseball. No matter how many questions a team may have as the offseason ends there is great anticipation. How will the Mets cover for the lost offense and leadoff characteristics of Jose Reyes? Will Johan Santana be able to return to his old form? Is there a [...]
