One of the most agonizing situations for me is when the Cubs have a Jewish ball player. And thanks to Scott Feldman it looks like I will be annoyed for at least one season. Cubs' rotation tweaks might not be done

As executives head for the winter meetings in Nashville, the Chicago Cubs have five pitchers in the rotation. That doesn't mean they are going to stop there. Before the meetings, the Cubs signed former Rangers right-hander Scott Feldman to a one-year deal worth $6 million with another $1 million possible in incentives. That gave the Cubs a rotation of right-handers Matt Garza...

Cubs Sign Scott Feldman, Land Another Bargain

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote up a comparison between Scott Feldman and Brandon McCarthy, noting that the two pitchers were probably more similar than their reputations would lead you to believe. As McCarthy noted in response, Feldman and McCarthy both altered their approaches to lean on the cut fastball while they were teammates in Texas, and the similarities are likely not a...

Wild baseball fans might be a standard sight at Wrigley Field, but a pair of wild coyotes milling around Chicago's historic ballpark - surrounded on all sides by bars, restaurants and busy streets - wasn't what one photographer was expecting on a busy Friday night. So he quickly grabbed his camera. ''They were just kind of chilling,'' freelance photographer...

One-Year Wonders

The Cubs add to their stable of pitchers today, by signing RHP Scott Feldman to a one year deal for $6M, plus $1M in incentives according to various sources. Feldman seemed to be a popular target among Cubs armchair GM's this offseason for reasons unbenknownst to me, but TheJedi seemed to concur. He's certainly cheap enough and getting away from that Texas park and the AL...

Back after a short break

I apologize for my lengthy absence from this blog. Once the postseason hit, and my boys were out of it, I lost a little bit of passion for the game. I didn’t watch much baseball in October although I kept up with scores and series records.  I still love baseball, but I needed a break.  After the rough ending to the Rangers’ season, I had to step away for a bit. It’s been...
