Ride The Pine:
That is one way to slide into 3rd base. Texas Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler had some trouble sliding against the Detroit Tigers on Thursday night.
At least he was safe, right?

ARLINGTON, Texas Texas Rangers leadoff hitter Ian Kinsler was out of the lineup again Saturday because of bruised ribs.
Kinsler didn't start Saturday either but was used as a pinchrunner late in the game.
Texas manager Ron Washington said Kinsler would be available to run again Saturday or as a defensive replacement for Leury Garcia, who started at second for a second-consecutive...
ARLINGTON, Texas Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington was looking for a way to get Ian Kinsler a day off.
Bruised ribs weren't in the plans though.
Kinsler was a late scratch Friday because of bruised ribs. Kinsler first hurt his ribs last weekend during a series in Houston when he was hit by a ball while trying to steal second base.
He aggravated the injury Thursday night...
Ian Kinsler is generally a master on the bases. 160 stolen bases in his career and only 33 caught stealing. He even has a +39.4 value as a baserunner throughout his career, according to Fangraphs. But this season his baserunning value is -0.9. I’m guessing all of the negative points came on the embarrassing slide seen above.
After singling to lead off the bottom of the first for...
Before going any further, it needs to be said that Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler is a very good baserunner. Over the course of his eight-year career he’s stolen 160 bases and been caught just 33 times for a solid 83 percent success rate. He’s also generally known around baseball as a “heads-up” baserunner, rarely making a miscue or running into a giveaway out.
So apparently yesterday Texas Rangers infielder Ian Kinsler put on a sliding clinic that Willie Mays Hayes would have been proud of.
For all the little leaguers out there, this is NOT, and I repeat NOT the way you want to slide headfirst into third base or any other base.

We are coached in Little League on the correct forms of sliding. It becomes old hat once you advance further into your baseball career. Yet to err is human. We are not perfect. Even baseball players show that they can forget the simplest things like slideing into third. Texas Rangers Ian Kinsler was proof of that last night as his team took on the Detroit Tigers. Not only did the...
Texas Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler is not in the starting lineup against the Detroit Tigers because of bruised ribs.
Kinsler says his ribs were hurt when he was hit by a Justin Verlander pitch in third inning Thursday night against the Tigers. He remained in the game for rest of Texas' 10-4 victory.
Shortstop Elvis Andrus will bat in Kinsler's leadoff position and...
You gotta give Ian Kinsler credit tonight for his hustle on this slide into third base against the Tigers. As you can see,…
Might want to reconsider sliding face-first in a base, Ian Kinsler, you know, like you learned in little league. Kinsler had this embarrassing moment after attempting to go first to third during Thursday’s match-up with the Detroit Tiger. Even with Kinsler’s moment, The Rangers beat up on Justin Verlander, scoring eight runs and not letting the Tigers’ Ace get out of the third inning.
As we have a tendency to do here at D4L, we like to deflect any and all negativity.
LOOK HOW TERRIBLE THIS IAN KINSLER SLIDE WAS LAST NIGHT [via DShep25]:
Here's how our Friday morning coffee-maker convo will go, okay?
Hungover fan: Did you see the Verlander-Darvish game last night?
Still-drunk fan: Yeah, dude - oh man, did you seeeee that...
Ian Kinsler went from first to third on an Elvis Andrus single Thursday night against the Tigers and he certainly got his money’s worth. One has to admire Kinsler’s hustle. And pigs have to admire Kinsler’s desire to play in the dirt. The Russian judge gave him a 7.5.
The Texas Rangers have placed second baseman Ian Kinsler on the 15-day disabled list because of bruised ribs and recalled top prospect Jurickson Profar from Triple-A Round Rock.
The move was announced before the Rangers, with the best record in the majors, played their series finale against Detroit on Sunday night.
Because Kinsler entered Friday night's game as a pinch-runner...
You have to give Ian Kinsler props (do people still say props?) for trying to make the most out of an Elvis Andrus single during Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers. It is much better for the team to have a guy on first and third relative to first and second.
But the way he got there--man, my face hurts a little bit every time I watch this sucker.
Thursday’s Detroit Tigers-Texas Ranger’s game in Texas had the potential to feature a pitching duel for the ages.
Unfortunately for Detroit however, their resident ace, Justin Verlander, wasn’t able to fulfill his end of the deal. Lasting just over two innings, Verlander allowed eight earned runs
ARLINGTON, Texas The Texas Rangers arent fans of Albuquerque.
Thats where the team had to spend a couple of unscheduled hours Wednesday after their flight from California to Texas had to be diverted because of the storms in the Metroplex.
The plane had to turn around and head back to New Mexico because of the weather and the team didnt get to Love Field until about 1:30 Thursday...
