The Texas Rangers may find themselves playing Ian Kinsler in the outfield at times next season. The second basemen is fine with that. “I’m paid to be a Ranger,” Kinsler told Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “Where I play on the field is not my decision.” Kinsler feels that he is a major league second baseman but he would be willing to play in the outfield if necessary. The Rangers could also consider playing Kinsler at first base at times next season. The Rangers find themselves in the position of an over crowded group of middle infielders. Rangers general manager Jon Daniels has been receiving calls about Elvis Andrus and minor leaguer Jurickson Profar who could either play at the major league level or return to the minors for additional playing time. Kinsler batted .259 last season with 19 home runs. He swiped 21 bases and scored 105 runs.
