Chicago Cubs third baseman Ian Stewart hasn't lived up to expectations since being acquired from the Rockies prior to the 2012 season. Stewart made $2.2375 million in 2012 with the Cubs, and played in just 55 games after surgery on his left wrist. Chicago nontendered him after the year, and re-signed him for $2 million. This season, Stewart hasn't played a game in the majors, logging 39 games with the AAA Iowa Cubs and struggling with a .164/.279/.345 line, missing some time with a strained quad.
