Ike Davis had a big night for Triple-A Las Vegas tonight as they beat the Fresno Grizzlies 2-0. Davis went 3-for-4 with a double and his seventh homerun since being demoted. He is now batting .293 in 74 at-bats with the 51s.

John Harper of the New York Daily News published an article this morning discussing Ike Davis and the Mets’ need to figure out if he’s part of the future plan. Harper leans more toward yes, stating that:
“They need to find out if Davis can be counted on as part of their plan for next year and beyond. Certainly that’s more important than trying to squeeze a few more hits out of Josh Satin’s hot streak.
On the other hand, the Mets are playing their best baseball of the season, in part because Satin is delivering some big hits, and that can’t be dismissed as insignificant either for a young team trying to put an end to years of losing.”
