It was officially announced that Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford will have season-ending Tommy John surgery this Thursday. After discussing the idea with management, all were in agreement that now is the best time. After having such a terrible season last year, respect must be given to Crawford for attempting to play this season so he can prove to everyone that the talent is still there. Before the season started, it was already known that Crawford would need to have surgery, but he wanted to prove his worth and potentially help the team make a playoff push.
