Found April 25, 2013 on Fox Sports Ohio:
BY Tony Lastoria Special to FOXSportsOhio.comThe Indians have already assigned nine different starting pitchers to their five-man staff. Considering we are not even 20 games into the season, this constitutes a tell-tale sign of how dire the Indians starting pitching situation is at the moment. One of the starters already cycled through the rotation is right-hander Carlos Carrasco. The 26-year old opened the season on the active roster to serve a five-game suspension handed down back in August of 2011. While serving the suspension, lefty Scott Kazmir went down with an injury and it opened the door for Carrasco to get an opportunity once his suspension was over. That opportunity came on April 9th at home against the Yankees. Three and two-thirds innings, seven runs, two homers, and one bean ball aimed at the head of Kevin Youkilis later, that opportunity went up in smoke. It is a tough situation for Carlos, Indians Vice President of Player Development Ross Atkins said in a recent intervi...

He was previously hitless on the season, walking twice in two games. To make room for Marson on the 25-man roster, the Indians...

Around The Farm: April 25, 2013

CF Tyler Naquin, Carolina Mudcats: 2-3, 2 R, 2B, HR, RBI, BB: The doubts about Naquin's power potential are starting to be answered early on. Naquin notched his sixth double and second home run on Thursday night, on top of one triple he has this season as well. He will never be a 20+ home run a year guy, but if he can continue to show good gap power that can turn into doubles...

Running outta starters at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario

The Indians’ season hinges on starting pitchers’ Trevor Bauer and Carlos Carrasco. It really is that simple. With or without the two youngsters, the baseball season still will be an entertaining one here at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario, but to have any chance at being good, Bauer and Carrasco have to not only be a part of this starting rotation, but have to be good...

Tony Wolters, Catching Convert

Rarely do players successfully transition to more difficult positions, but the Cleveland Indians believe second base prospect Tony Wolters can be the next infielder to be successful converted into a catcher. It’s common for a player to move to a less valuable position when his abilities fall short of major league competency, but occasionally a player will increase his value by...

Second Thoughts Game #19: White Sox 3, Indians 2

Pre-Game Commentary Coming off three straight wins to climb back to 8-10, the Indians needed to solve Jorge Quintana to leave Chicago with a rain-shortened series sweep. Two weeks ago, Quintana pitched seven innings of one-hit baseball against the Indians, and he was facing a lineup without Michael Bourn, Carlos Santana, and Asdrubal Cabrera during this game. From the start,...

4/24 Recap: Indians 2 - White Sox 3

Roster Update: The did something very dumb today as they brought back Lou Marson from the DL in exchange for Yan Gomes, who went back to Columbus. The Indians claim they sent Gomes back to AAA because they want him to play everyday, but with Carlos Santana and Nick Swisher signed long term, it is unlikely that Gomes would ever be the starting catcher for the Indians and he is already...
