It's an annual tradition. Come mid-January when the majority of all
off-season moves are completed, the Indians head out on a "Winter
Caravan". This Press Tour, which has 14 stops all over Northeast and
Central Ohio is meant to spread the word about the teams upcoming
season and to hype up the fanbase and get people in the mindset that
baseball, and summer days of fun, are truly just around the corner.
Monday night, on the first night of the 2009 caravan, the Tribe made a stop in Columbus, the new home of the teams AAA affiliate, the Columbus Clippers. Included in this Columbus stop were manager Eric Wedge, broadcaster Tom Hamilton, outfielder Shin-Soo Choo (or just Choo as he now seems to want to be called), reliever Jensen Lewis, and outfield prospect - and soon to be Columbus Clipper - Matt LaPorta......
