All reports out of Fort Myers say that David Ortiz is a go. What does that look like? Still about ten days away from games, Ortiz can now focus on increasing his workload while building strength in and around his heel. Last July, Ortiz strained his right Achilles tendon,and with the exception of one game in August, the injury forced him to miss the remainder of the 2012 season. Although it's early, Ortiz has not seen any action in this season's Spring Training either. However, with 6 weeks left to go until opening day, Ortiz is not worried and has assured Red Sox nation that he will be ready come April 1st. Ortiz revealed to reporters today that he had a small tear in his Achilles that has since healed, and although he is days away from playing in any games, he continues to increase the intensity of workouts with Red Sox staff.
