Found December 05, 2011 on Fox Sports:
Interest in free-agent left-hander C.J. Wilson has intensified to the point that it's possible he will sign before the end of the week, a major-league source told FOXSports.com Monday evening. Wilson has received contract offers from four clubs, sources say, with the Angels and Marlins among them. There is growing sentiment within the industry that Wilson will ultimately sign a six-year contract -- and surpass the five-year, $82.5 million guarantees signed by A.J. Burnett and John Lackey in recent years. The Rangers -- the only organization Wilson has known -- remain involved and are likely to make the 31-year-old a contract offer this week. The Red Sox and Cubs have been gauging Wilson's market, as well, although it's not clear if either has tendered a formal contract offer. The Nationals have been viewed as a suitor for Wilson, but sources have downplayed their interest in recent days.
