Are you hurt, or are you injured?
That is the number one question for athletes around the world. Professional athletes have to know the difference, have to know the limits of their own body, and have to know when to say hey I’m injured I need some time to get right physically. For Brennan Boesch this very question may just be the reason behind his struggles.
Let us not forget Boesch missed the last three months of the 2011 season with a thumb injury. He has surgery on it last September, and yet he has not been the same player this year as he has been. Boesch had torn ligaments, and that is certainly a serious issue. However since returning his batting average is 40 points lower over last year and 15 points lower than his 162 game average. Power wise his numbers look inline, but getting the ball into play seems to be an issue for him this year.
