Griffey is about 50 lbs heavier today than he was in his prime.... all of it pure fat. He distributed the weight pretty well, but it's fat nonetheless. I'm surprised a 40 year old athlete, fighting for a starting position would let himself go like that. He needs to drop at least 25 lbs, preferably 35.

First off, i love the fact that Griffey is back with the M's. If you grew up in the Northwest in the '90s and don't still idolize The Kid, you're a communist.
I spent a good 5 minutes today staring at his page on the M's roster. I still can't beleive it. I'm giddy.
That being said, one picture on the Seattle Times gallery put a damper on all of this bromance and revelry. There are 130+ baseball games we'll need him to play and is Griffey...fat?
