ESPN reports that Scott Kazmir is officially a member of the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League.  Kazmir is expected to start Sunday’s game against the Bridgeport Bluefish. Game time is slated for 6:05pm.  A lot of time has past since we have seen Kazmir on the mound and I am unaware where he has been training and with whom, but this first game has a lot riding on it. Obviously, Kazmir would like to get back to the Major Leagues hopefully in time for a playoff run.  Gary Gaetti, former Minnesota Twin great and current Skeeters’ manager, was quoted in the Sacramento Bee, is thrilled at the idea of this former strikeout expert on his staff;  "We look forward to seeing his stuff in action out on the mound with the track record he brings."  At 28, there has to be a lot left in the tank.
