Found September 20, 2013 on Cleveland Sports 360:
In a game that had the hearts of Indians fans almost coming to a stop, the Cleveland Indians found a run in the 11th inning to get the win over the Houston Astros. I don’t know what it is about this Indians team, every time they play a team they should beat, they struggle. Indians first baseman Nick Swisher had a big night at the plate, he went 4 for 4 and he scored the first run for Cleveland when Jason Kipnis singled him in. The Indians sent Ubaldo Jimenez to the mound for the start and he held the Astros to one run in the 6 innings he worked. Jimenez had another good start, he struck out 9 batters and didn’t give up a walk. The Indians got a scare when closer Chris Perez struggled to do his job. Perez has kept it interesting this season. to say the least. The Tribe used 5 pitchers in the game and they were able to find the win. They are still in the race and looking to get into the play offs with a wild card appearance.  They play the Astros again tonight and it is dollar dog nig...

WFNY Stats & Info: Ubaldo Jimenez emerging as Indians ace

Yet again, I can’t help but share how amazing Ubaldo Jimenez has been for the Indians over a nearly five-month span. First, in early June, I wrote about some of his best starts in a Cleveland uniform. Then, again in a stats headline, I wrote about his incredible continued improvement here in early September. Man, did Jimenez remain hot again last night against the Houston Astros...

Indians 2, Astros 1: MATT CARSON MANIA!!!!

If this one was any indication of the nail-biting nature of the stretch run just to get to October, it is going to be a long 10 days for Tribe fans. But here is hoping that the payoff will be as good as it was last night. The Indians welcomed in the Houston Astros, baseball’s worst team. You know things are bad when former Tribe flame out #1 pick Trevor Crowe is not only their...

Grandma Makes Amazing Catch At Cleveland Indians Game

Here is your highlight from Thursday’s game between the Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians. This older lady shows that she’s still got it with a fantastic catch. When this hard hit foul ball came her way she makes a nifty snag. She rightfully celebrates her terrific snag that would players like Eduardo Nunez and Richie Weeks wish they could make. Second Thoughts Game #153: Astros 1, Indians 2

Ubaldo Jimenez’s success of late has been well documented and his transition from a guy who may not have the Indians pick up his mutual option to a top five free agent arm has happened in a heartbeat. One could quickly point to his elevated velocity, strikeout rate, location or reduced walk rate as core reasons for his improvement. In each case one would be entirely correct. One...

Zach McAllister lasted five innings and the Cleveland Indians got two gift runs from Houston in a 2-1, rain-shortened victory over the Astros on Friday night to remain near the top of the AL wild-card standings. Second Thoughts Game #154: Astros 1, Indians 2

A Win’s A Win Earned runs, unearned runs, walks, hits, errors, extra innings, rain… In the end, it doesn’t matter how you win since they’re all chalked up the same in the win column. On Friday night, the Indians took game two of the four-game set against the lowly Astros 2-1 in a rain-shortened six and a half innings of play. Both runs of the game were unearned...

Series Preview: Astros at Indians

A series win against Kansas City would have placed the Indians in one of the two Wild Card spots, but the feisty Royals have stuck around for a little while longer. The Indians will come back home now, where they will face an easier and less familiar foe. Finally, the Houston Astros have come back to Cleveland. It may be a common occurrence in the future with the Astros now in...
