Dom D's Mets Fan Blog:
A lot has been written in past couple of days like this was going to be a piece of cake. For one , I thought the Mets would not do this again but you have to look at the team as a whole. The bullpen was one reason why we got there in 2006 and in 2007 it was the reason why we did not get there. The 2008 season has had it's ups and downs, but the bullpen is in shambles. The bats are again unconvincing and it looks like the beginning of the season again when we could not come through.
It's the final week of the season and cannot get a gage that the Mets Fan is convinced that it's not going to happen again. Some people say it's the managers fault, some say it's the GM's Fault, some say it's David Wright's fault. Everyone has their opinions and objections. It's the overall team that is not doing it, from top to bottom.........
One thing I can say is this, if the Mets don't make it the front office better convince the Mets fan that they will make this bullpen better and better fast. The time spent with watching Aaron Heilman has not been fun, nor has the time watching guys that had career years in the past now giving up brutal bombs and go ahead runs...
Think about a time where you would say to yourself, I wish we had Billy Wagner? It happens every game....
You can't tell me that the Mets won't even think about K-Rod....C'mon!
This team has lost it's heart in a time where they need it. They have to put the paychecks in the bank and play ball. It's almost sad to say that they can go out like this in the last days of Shea. A time where we can only
take the memories of the past that were good and leave the bad ones behind.
So with six to play are you convinced that there can be a turnaround in sight or is it a made up dream in our minds...We have to take what the Mets give us, because that's why we are Mets fans...
