Was it just me or was anyone else shocked when they saw that Kurt Suzuki not only hit two home runs in yesterday’s game but that the second was his twelfth of the season? If I had to guess the numbers of home runs he has hit this season before I saw that number I would have guessed seven or eight. Those are twelve very quiet home runs. I think it is very likely Kurt could end the season with fifteen or more home runs. That’s not a bad season as far as home runs go. Even with this revelation I am still not happy with what Kurt is bringing to the table on a daily basis. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think Kurt is a horrible player. I just think that for the money the A’s are paying him they should be getting more than a good defensive catcher and an occasional home run. For the money he is making Kurt should be hitting higher than .230 and driving in more than thirty four rbis. I feel, for much less money, Josh Donaldson could be putting up the same numbers...
