ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. Jake Odorizzi is going back to Durham, and the Tampa Bay Rays have promoted right-hander Alex Colome to bolster a fatigued bullpen. On Tuesday night, the Rays announced that Odorizzi, a right-hander, will be moved down to Triple-A, a day after he pitched four innings and gave up six runs and eight hits in a 10-6 victory over the Miami Marlins at Tropicana Field. On Wednesday afternoon, Colome was promoted and will work in a relief role. He's available to play later in the day during the Rays' game against the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park. A starter for Tampa Bay's game Saturday against the Cleveland Indians is still undetermined. Weve already spoken to him, Rays manager Joe Maddon said of Odorizzi, after the Rays 7-6 victory over the Marlins on Tuesday night. (Pitching coach Jim Hickey) went over some things he wants him to work on. Part of this decision is based on usage of the bullpen right now. We have to make sure were covered in the bullpen so...

Ultimately, I think we realize that baseball doesn't matter. It's a fun sport -- even a beautiful sport -- but baseball doesn't add anything tangible to our lives. We can't eat it, can't use it to build anything, and most of us aren't paid by or because of it. Instead, we follow baseball for the joy it brings to our lives, and because life is too short to...
