Told ya Jake Peavy gets all-star nod despite losing vote

Told ya all that All-Star campaigning crap was a waste of time. I told you that Chicago White Sox and their fans’ mindless jingoism and lemming behavior to vote Jake Peavy into the Midsummer classic was for naught- not because he finished second in the voting, but because I knew HE WOULD GET THERE ANYWAY. As an injury replacement. And he did. This is the third All-Star nod for...

Matt Thornton leads White Sox rookie teammates to bullpen tied to a rope (Video)

Chicago White Sox veteran bullpen pitcher Matt Thornton tied six rookie pitchers together with a rope and led them across the field from the dugout to the bullpen before Friday's game at U.S. Cellular Field against the Toronto Blue Jays. Ventura doesn't want White Sox looking too far ahead

Considering the expectations the Chicago White Sox had coming out of spring training, the fact that they entered the All-Star break with a three-game lead over Cleveland atop the Central Division, it would seem that there would be a few moments to pat themselves on the back. Not under Robin Ventura's watch. The first-year manager has spent his time instilling a one-game-at...

The Chicago White Sox Finish First Half With A Three Game Lead In A.L. Central Will It Hold?

The Chicago White Sox turned a lot of heads in the first half. The team people thought couldn’t contend has a three game lead in the A.L. Central Division and they could have made it four if they didn’t lose to the Toronto Blue Jays 11-9 in their last game before the All-Star Break. The White Sox were down in the game by 4 runs until the fifth inning when the White Sox turned...

Los Angeles Angels trade rumors – starting pitchers

The Los Angeles Angels are in the thick of the AL West and AL Wildcard races. That’s the good news. The bad news is the pitching staff is staggering. Ervin Santana has struggled mightily and 5th starter Garrett Richards was optioned to Triple A on July 6th. To make matters worse, Dan Haren just landed on the DL for the first time in his career. This puts the Angels in a tight...
