Jarrod Washburn to Detroit

The Mariners have dealt Jarrod Washburn to the Tigers. Seattle gets Luke French and a minor league lefty named Mauricio Robles. Robles is the more talented of the two, but this is a fair package, not a matter of Seattle taking someone to the cleaners or a complete steal. Washburn will be a free agent after the season. It also seems like good news for the Rangers, who are done with Detroit for the season and who get to avoid Washburn in this series and again when the teams play two series late in September.
