Jason Jennings admitted that it felt good to pitch well against the Astros, a team that never saw him at his best in 2007.
"I wanted to show those fans something because they never got to see me really pitch well because of the injuries," Jennings said. "I wasn't able to do my job. Now I am."
Jennings had right elbow troubles that plagued him for the 2007 season while in Houston. He was 2-9 with a 6.45 ERA in 19 games (18 starts) and had two stints on the disabled list. Last year wasn't much better in terms of elbow issues. But the Jennings that has pitched for the Rangers this season is the one that Astros fans were hoping they were getting in 2007.
Jennings said the biggest difference is his ability to keep the ball down. He's using both his fastballs and the slider continues to be his key pitch.
