As the third update of the All-Star Game balloting results was released Sunday night, one thing is still clear. Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jean Segura isn't going to catch Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. Still third in votes among National League shortstops, Segura gained some ground on Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford and second place, but he's still quite a bit behind Tulowitzki. While Segura likely won't be voted in to start by the fans, his odds of starting were still increased this week due to an injury by Tulowitzki. Having an MVP-like season, Tulowitzki is expected to be out between four and six weeks with a broken rib suffered while diving for a groundball last Thursday. Segura certainly is deserving of being an All-Star and has better numbers than Crawford, but that doesn't guarantee him the starting nod if Tulowitzki has to miss the All-Star Game. If a player who is voted to start by the fans has to drop out, his replacement is determined by the top vo...

There's So Much Aoki, You Have No Idea What to Do - (This Includes An Explanation)

I've really been bothered by something involving the previous artwork. My closest guess would be that I forgot to include a nightmare-free version, as well. This is not Norichika Aoki's fault, at all. It's mine, because I can't draw facial hair, so that will not be included in this one. Also, there's a nice background that is kind of like what you'd see on...

Brewers call up OF Gindl to replace Braun

The Brewers have called up outfielder Caleb Gindl to replace the injured Ryan Braun before the second game of their series against the Cincinnati Reds. Gindl will be the sixth player to make his major league debut with Milwaukee this season. He batted .274 for Triple-A Nashville with 15 doubles, eight homers and 38 RBIs. The Brewers put Braun on the 15-day disabled list after their...

A Yovani Gallardo Theme Song

A musical description of Yovani Gallardo. Not sure if you could call it a powerpop instrumental...it's an instrumental, at the very least. I haven't found where the html editor is on here, yet. It would be more convenient to eventually embed the Soundcloud player on this page, so I'll find out what I can do. Music/Artwork by J. Lemont

Mike Fiers out 9-12 weeks after breaking forearm

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers suffered a broken right forearm while pitching for Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. It's been a year full of challenges on and off the field for Fiers, the latest occurring when New Orleans third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a line drive off of Fiers' right forearm in Nashville's 6-3 loss to the Zephyrs. The injury is expected...

Logan Schafer seizes moment, fuels Milwaukee road win

The 2013 Milwaukee Brewers have had a horrible string of luck with regard to injuries. Eight Brewers currently reside on the disabled list, saddled with injuries ranging from thumb contusions (Ryan Braun) to formerly torn knee ligaments (Corey Hart). On Saturday, though, fate finally smiled on the Brewers. Logan Schafer must've felt especially fortunate, as he continued his...

Wily Peralta still working on maintaining consistency

Great American Ball Park hasn't been kind to the Milwaukee Brewers lately. First and foremost, the Cincinnati Reds have been one of the National League's best teams and are tough to beat at home. But the Brewers haven't played consistent enough baseball to earn a series win in Cincinnati in quite some time. With a chance to clinch their first road series win over the...

Reds look to extend winning streak against Brewers

Although the Milwaukee Brewers are thriving at the plate during Ryan Braun's absence, they couldn't end their struggles against the Cincinnati Reds last time out. With Braun now on the disabled list, the Brewers will try to snap a five-game skid to their NL Central rivals and avoid losing for a 10th time in 11 games in Cincinnati on Saturday. Milwaukee (27-39) is batting...

Brewers lose Mike Fiers for 9-12 weeks

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers sustained a fractured right forearm on Saturday when he was hit with a line drive during his Triple-A start, the team has announced. The injury will sideline Fiers for nine to 12 weeks, which means it could end his season. Fiers has pitched between Triple-A and the majors this season, making 11 appearances – including three starts...

Hazelwood West pitcher signs with the Brewers

ST. LOUIS -- Devin Williams' decision has been made. The 18-year-old pitcher from Hazelwood West High School in St. Louis has signed with the Milwaukee Brewers, the team that selected him with the 54th pick in this year's MLB Draft. Williams will receive a 1.35 million signing bonus, his adviser told FOXSportsMidwest.com. That amount is 333,000 more than the recommended...

Brewers-Astros Preview

Improved pitching has provided a recent spark for the Milwaukee Brewers. The same could be said of the Houston Astros, and in particular Jordan Lyles. The Brewers look for another strong performance on the mound from an unlikely source, while Lyles attempts to continue his impressive stretch in the opener of this three-game set Tuesday night. Milwaukee's starting pitchers...

Roy Oswalt will make Rockies debut on Thursday

It has to be hard for a veteran player to be relegated to the minors, but that has been the case for pitcher Roy Oswalt. The 13-year veteran has been in the farm system for the Colorado Rockies for the last six weeks, but it looks like his time there could soon be coming to a close. Troy Renck
