Found February 04, 2013 on My Sports Rumors:
New York Yankees Derek Jeter is busy trying to recover from the broken ankle he suffered in the 2012 MLB Playoffs. Unfortunately for him he’s also getting bombarded with questions about Alex Rodriguez and his PED usage. Jeter addressed the issue today and the writers must not have liked the response they received. “I don’t comment on anyone until they speak first,” Jeter said Monday. “Let him address his situation before I comment on it. Let him speak first and then we’ll talk about that.” (LoHud Yankees Blog) While that’s not a response they liked, I love it. It’s your typical Jeter, if you want information on a guy go talk to that guy. I love it even more because Jeter’s got something more important on his plate, recovering from that injury. Jete plans to start running later this month and is pretty sure he’ll be ready for Opening Day. “Everything’s been good,” Jeter said. “Everything’s right where it needs to be. The goal is April 1st, that’s when we start our season

Jeter won't comment on A-Rod PED report until teammate himself talks first

Teixeira admits to being overpaid.

Mark Teixeira says he is “overpaid.”   Usually when athletes talk about their contracts, they are complaining about how small it is, but, apparently, Mark Teixeira is not one of those athletes. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, he stated that he is overpaid and “on the backside of [his] career.” Talk about honesty. A week following a Yankee player who has...

From intern to GM, Cashman deserves respect

When Brian Cashman began his internship with the Yankees in 1987, he saw then GM Woody Woodward buckle under The Boss. Nicknamed The Pharmacist because of his trove of stress-relieving medication, Woodward resigned after one year. Being the General Manager for the Yankees under George Steinbrenner was just as good as an internship it seemed like. Cashman was almost 20 then, and was...

Yankees reportedly trying to protect Alex Rodriguez from paparazzi

Alex Rodriguez appears to be hiding. Between rehabbing an injury that could sideline him for much of the 2013 season and facing accusations surrounding performance-enhancing drug use, A-Rod is likely not anxious to speak to the media any time soon. That is why the New York Yankees are doing their best to protect him. “I’m not going to say to try and keep away the extra, whatever...

Mark Teixeira knows he’s overpaid, aging

Mark Teixeira gave a thoroughly honest interview to the Wall Street Journal in which he admitted that he is overpaid and aging. He has four seasons left under the current deal, and he is scheduled to earn $22.5 million each year. Though he was one of the most productive first...

Alex Rodriguez is under fire once again for rumored use of performance enhancing drugs.  Rodriguez is rehabbing a bad hip, and in order to keep the media from hounding Rodriguez during his rehab, ESPN New York is reporting that the team will keep his rehab location a secret. “I’m not going to say to try and keep away the extra whatever you want to call it, paparazzi, whatever...

Mark Teixeira: I Know I am Overpaid

It’s not too often you hear a player in any sport admit that he is probably overpaid. Market determines value, and whatever you were able to get at the time of free agency is what you were worth. At least, in my opinion. But enter New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira, who recently opened [...]

Mo Rivera: Yanks will support A-Rod

Sitting on a stage with their manager and GM during a fundraiser, Mariano Rivera and Mark Teixeira vowed to welcome Alex Rodriguez back to the New York Yankees following the latest drug allegations against the New York Yankees star.

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is rehabilitating his surgery-repaired left hip in New York and Miami, a source told the New York Daily News. America’s Game (Courtesy of Wikimedia Commons) The wait is over.  ESPN’s two-week orgy of analysis is mercifully done and we can finally watch the Ravens and the 49ers battle in Super Bowl XLVII.  We thought it would be fun to check in with some Yankees and ask them what their picks were for the Big Game.  Check them out.  (Watch Brosius guess the exact score–he is so clutch...

Derek Lowe a fit for the Mets..

During the off-season before the 2009 season it was rumored that the Mets came very close to signing Derek Lowe only to have the Braves swoop in and grab the veteran pitcher.  The made a low ball offer that they sat on saying they wouldn't bid against themselves, the Braves missed several pitchers and were able to become the highest bidder. Now most believed that the Braves...
