Found September 07, 2012 on Holdout Sports:
Colorado Rockies pitcher Jhoulys Chacin mishandled the throwback from catcher Wilin Rosario during the second inning of Thursday's MLB game against the Atlanta Braves.

The goof was critical as it allowed Braves runner Juan Francisco to score from third base...and it ended up being the only run scored in the game.  Is it any wonder that the Rockies are in last place in the National League West?

Rockies Pitcher Jhoulys Chacin Drops Throw From Catcher; Blows Game

The Braves took on the Rockies yesterday in Atlanta. It was a pretty uninteresting game for the most part and was 0-0 heading into the bottom of the second. Rockies catcher Wilin Rosario was routinely tossing the ball back to pitcher Jhoulys Chacin when something odd happened. Chacin just totally missed the ball and it went rolling towards second base, allowing Juan Francisco...

Colorado Rockies lose game on pitcher/catcher exchange (Video)

In the annals of baseball history, teams and players have lost games based on some pretty stupid reasons but the below clip from Thursday's Rockies/Braves game might take the cake.Atlanta had runners on second and third in the second inning, when Colorado pitcher Jhoulys Chacin missed a routine throw from catcher Wilin Rosario and the ball scooted into the outfield. Braves base...

So, the Rockies lost on a Fouled up Catcher, Pitcher Exchange

Have to admit we can't recall seeing a team lose, ever, when the pitcher missed the catcher's return throw. But now we've seen it, once -- after a pitch by Colorado Rockies starter Jhoulys Chacin was... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~

Colorado Rockies nearly no-hit in Atlanta

The end is near for the 2012 Rockies. It almost would have been fitting for the 2012 Colorado Rockies to have a no-hitter thrown against them. It looked like it might happen for six innings as the Braves held on to a 1-0 win in Atlanta on Wednesday night.More fitting, Jordan Pacheco was the Rockie who ended the no-hit bid with his single in the top of the 7th inning.Despite being...

Rutledge moves to second base

In Friday's Rockies Notes column, I briefly mentioned that Josh Rutledge moved to second base for Thursday's game and will remain there for the rest of the season. Coming into the season scouts were skeptical about his ability to stay at shortstop, but that didn't stop me from ranking Rutledge as a top ten prospect in the system.

The Phils win in the ninth inning as they defeat the Rockies, 3-2.

The Phils come from behind before winning in the ninth on a walk-off single by pinch hitter Nate Schierholtz, as they defeat the Rockies, 3-2. The Rockies took the lead in the first as, with one man on, and with one man out, Carlos Gonzalez hits an RBI double, scoring Josh Rutledge, who had earlier singled, giving the Rockies a 1-0 lead. The Rockies then made it a 2-0 lead as Wilin Rosario...

Rockies Notes: 9/7

The Colorado Rockies lost a tough game Thursday afternoon as for the second consecutive day the Rockies fell 1-0 to the Atlanta Braves. It was the first time in franchise history that the Rockies have lost consecutive 1-0 games, but perhaps the biggest takeaway from this game was how the lone run of the day scored.

Phillies come from behind to take 3-2 victory over Rockies

Ryan Howard did not start. Jeff Francis seemed in control for the Rockies. No problem. Layne Nix tied the game with a double in the eighth, and Nate Schierholtz won the game with a single in the ninth. Starter Cliff Lee pitched pretty well, but it was Jonathan Paplebon won the game to increase his record to 4-6. Francis was pitching well, but was taken out with two outs in the sixth...
