Jurickson Profar won’t turn 21 until February. But that didn’t stop the Rangers from busting out the booze following Profar’s walk-off homer Thursday. Profar’s teammates — still fired about the 20-year-old’s game-winning home run — doused him in beer upon returning to the clubhouse. While it isn’t a big deal, people still tend to be curious about how underage players celebrate while everyone else dips into alcohol. (See 20-year-old Xander Bogaerts, who was unable to indulge in a few postgame brewskis after the Red Sox clinched their AL East title.) Rangers closer Joe Nathan made sure that everyone understood that no laws or rules were broken during Profar’s beer shower, though. “Well, he didn’t drink any,” Nathan told reporters. “He just wore it. Clothes aren’t underage.” Oh, thank goodness Filed under: Headlines, MLB, Ricky Doyle, Texas Rangers

Matt Garza Goes Nuts After Jurickson Profar’s Walk-Off Homer Gives Rangers Win Over Angels (GIF)

Jurickson Profar‘s pinch-hit, walk-off home run on Thursday kept the Rangers within a game of the Indians for the American League’s final wild card spot, and nobody was happier about it than Matt Garza. As Profar’s bomb left the yard, Garza, who did not pitch in the game, leaped out out the dugout and began a raucous — and we mean raucous — celebration at he fist pumped...

Washington's switch to Jurickson Profar could be reason Rangers sneak into playoffs

If the Rangers sneak into the American League playoffs by one win they can point to the moment when manager Ron Washington remembered rookie Jurickson Profar was still around. Profar led off the ninth inning with a pinch-hit homer that gave the Rangers a 6-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on Thursday night. It was only the second at-bat for Profar...

Rangers had no problem with baseballs Friday

ARLINGTON, Texas The apparent problems with the baseballs during Friday Texas Rangers game against Los Angeles apparently only impacted C.J. Wilson. "I can't tell you I noticed any difference with the balls," said Texas reliever Tanner...

Profar’s walk-off homer in ninth keeps Rangers close in wildcard hunt

Baseball it is often said is a funny game and nights like Thursday give life to that adage. The kind of laughter rolling through Rangers Ballpark though varied from the kind that comes with disbelief to the kind that would put a man in the nuthouse to at the end both. Somehow the Texas Rangers managed to have the last laugh when one swing of Jurickson Profar’s bat kept hope alive...

Angels get beat on walk-off HR in Texas again 6-5
