Yesterday, I called Johan Santana’s start last night both critical and pivotal. If Johan went out there and stymied the Dodgers with a gem of a performance, then it was imperative for the front office to add a proven and effective reliever for the bullpen, a possible upgrade at catcher, and a right-handed bat with power who could play corner outfield. However, if Santana tossed...
How the mighty have fallen. Johan Santana, whose bounceback campaign hit an unexpected high on June 1 when he threw the franchise’s first no-hitter, has not only come back to Earth, but he’s done it in a way no one could see coming.
Through his first 11 starts of the season, which ended with the hitless gem, the southpaw was vintage Santana, going 3-2 with a 2.38 ERA, 1.03...

NEW YORK -- The Los Angeles Dodgers did more damage against New York Mets starter Johan Santana than the Mets' suspect bullpen, then watched their own relievers barely hold on. The Dodgers scored six runs in the first three innings against Santana, building an early lead before withstanding the Mets' rally for a 7-6 win Friday night at CitiField. Matt Kemp and Luis Cruz...

Even though it has been a very rough last week, the Mets are still in it. They are only 3.5 games behind a playoff spot, and arguably just went through the roughest week the team has gone through all season long. This team has amazed us all season, and I hope that they don’t stop amazing us. The real reason why not making it interesting in september would be heartbreaking for...
