It always seemed strange seeing Johnny Damon in pinstripes. After all, Damon was the king of the idiots during the Red Sox curse ending World Series title in 2004. Johnny was gone the next year to the hated Yankees, where he won another championship in 2009.
A major contributor to that title run was noted cheater Alex Rodriguez. In the 2009 postseason, A-Fraud hit .365 with five doubles, six home runs and 18 RBI. Damon thinks that title may be tainted.
Damon appeared on SiriusXM Radio Wednesday and was asked if the Yankees 2009 World Series had been "diminished" because of Rodriguez's involvement with PEDs.
“I really haven’t gotten to think that far, but if that’s how he was able to hit in the postseason, like he did that year, then yeah, absolutely.”
Damon admitted that Rodriguez was a major factor in the Yankees’ run to the World Series.
