The New York Yankees have confirmed that Jorge Posada will announce his retirement Tuesday at Yankee Stadium.
The 40-year-old Posada batted just .235 with 14 homers and 44 RBIs while serving as a designated hitter last season
He has been a mainstay on the Yankees, helping the franchise win five World Series titles from 1996-2009.
Originally selected in the 24th round of the 1990 draft, Posada went
on to hit 275 homers with 1,065 RBIs for his career. He is a five-time
All-Star.
