Josh Reddick is proud of his beard. So proud, in fact, that he’s willing to put a wager on it. The A’s outfielder, who is now nearly unrecognizable just two years removed from his time in Boston, accepted WWE wrestler Daniel Bryan‘s “beard-off” challenge on Wednesday, which calls for the two to grow out their facial hair throughout the year and have fans vote on whose is superior. They spent much of the day trading smack talk on Twitter, revealing the fact that Bryan has been growing out his beard for over a year while Reddick has only had his since November. In addition to his affinity for baseball and beard growing, Reddick is also a big-time wrestling fan — even posing with a championship belt in his official team picture — and seems to be taking the competition very seriously. As of Wednesday night, the bio on his Twitter page (@joshreddick16) read: “I have two jobs… Play baseball and BEAT DANIEL BRYAN IN A BEARDOFF!” The loser must shave his face clean while the winner, well, we’re not exactly sure what the winner receives. We’re guessing the pride of being named Beard-Off Champion would be reward enough for these two competitors. You can vote for either Reddick or Bryan by clicking this link. We had a great run as a group, as core guys, and he was a part of it and for him to say things about anybody in a negative manner, that’s up to him.” –Jameer Nelson firing back at his former Orlando teammate Tweet of the night Brian Cashman isn’t very confident in the Yankees’ free-agent prospects. Cashman said NYY could look at a pool of 1B or 3B thanks to Youkilis' versatility: "It’s kind of like a baby pool. A lot of kids pee in it.”— Mark Feinsand (@FeinsandNYDN) March 06, 2013 Video of the night In the face! In the face!
