The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without 31-year old righty swinging 2B/3B Juan Uribe for the rest of the season due to surgery to repair a left sports hernia. Uribe was signed to a 3-year, $21 million dollar deal over the winter and it’s looking like a big mistake so far. Uribe played in 77 games for the Dodgers this year and he was 55 for 270 (.204 avg, .557 OPS) with 21 runs scored, 4 homers, 28 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. The Dodgers really hope that Uribe gets back to being the player he was before this year, for the last two years of the contract he signed over the winter. Uribe has now played in 1,333 games in his first 11 years in the majors and he is 1,169 for 4,627 (.253 avg, .721 OPS) with 567 runs scored, 155 homers, 627 RBIs and 41 stolen bases.
