Maybe it's the impact of having Evan Longoria back, or maybe it's only a coincidence.

But since Longoria rejoined the Rays on Tuesday, they haven't lost.

Longoria, who missed 85 games because of a left hamstring injury, didn't actually do much in his first two games back.

But Thursday, he delivered, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, as the Rays rapped 13 hits and rolled to a 7-1 victory over the Blue Jays.

The 13 hits were one shy of their season high at home, and for the first time this season they scored in four consecutive innings.

"With the addition of guys like Longo, I think everybody else is kind of able to relax a bit and gain some confidence. and once you're able to do that things start rolling," OF Matt Joyce said.

"We've had a great series and we've got to figure out a way to keep it going. But right now I think we're happy with the way we've been swinging."

Manager Joe Maddon liked it, too.

"When (Longoria) he hits the ball, he's hitting the ball hard already and that's a good thing," Maddon said. "You can see, when he hits the ball, the velocity off the bat is different.

"It's good and that is what becomes contagious. I think the pitchers on the other team see that. When the ball is hit that hard, it does something to the pitcher. It just bothers them a little bit.

"I think the rest of the group can feed off it. The ball off the bat it was very hot with him today."
