Found September 12, 2013 on Lady At The Bat:
After the final Major League pitch was thrown last night, the Yankees were looking at only the Tampa Bay Rays as the ones keeping them out of the playoffs.  Just one game separates the Yankees from a trip to October Baseball. Well, a trip to a one-game playoff, anyway. However, don't get too excited, kiddies.  In tonight's series finale against the Orioles, the Yankees might take a step backward. With Phil Hughes starting the game, the bats had better show up and, en masse.  The Yankees need to score lots of runs to make up for all the runs Hughes is likely to give up. Otherwise they could end up with a series split, a possible two-game deficit and a bad taste in their mouths. It's really a bummer that no one else can take the ball tonight.  But, that's what injuries will do for you. Of course, it's not just the pitching.  We heard yesterday that Derek Jeter's season is over. His career isn't.No one believes Derek Jeter's career is over.  People who are ...

Yankees President Randy Levine: Robinson Cano isn’t ‘a re-sign at any cost’ in free agency

With the end of the Major League Baseball season getting closer, Robinson Cano and the Yankees are approaching the time when they’ll have to stop talking about waiting to talk about Cano’s free agent status and start to do something about it. The Yankees should name this man their new, de facto Captain

Bobby Valentine sticks to his 9/11 comments about Yankees, sounds like an idiot

Bobby Valentine made some incredibly idiotic comments on Wednesday about the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. In short, he felt it necessary to say that the New York Mets were more visible in the days after the tragedy and did more to help the community than the New York Yankees. Later in the […]

Bobby Valentine Off Base In Criticism Of Yankees’ 9-11 Presence

Bobby Valentine was a loose cannon when he managed the New York Mets and not much has changed. VALENTINE: Off base in comments. That’s exactly what Valentine while speaking on WFAN, the soon to be ex-flagship station of the...
