The Miami Marlins are in the market for a variety of players after they decided to wash their hands of almost everything they did last offseason and start fresh. You could argue that they are in need of a full-time center fielder, just don’t expect Justin Ruggiano to agree with you. On Thursday morning, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweeted that Miami is in the market for a center fielder and got a direct response from Ruggiano, who played that position for the Marlins for a good portion of the 2012 season. @ken_rosenthal no we don’t. I got this. — Justin Ruggiano (@justinruggiano) November 29, 2012 Rosenthal obviously didn’t see that coming, and he praised the 30-year-old outfielder for his sense of humor while they exchanged pleasantries. @ken_rosenthal I’ll be watching. Love the show. — Justin Ruggiano (@justinruggiano) November 29, 2012 Bravo, Justin. Ruggiano’s witty response is something we need more of on Twitter. It’s not as if Rosenthal was disrespecting him in any way. He was simply stating the obvious, but Ruggiano has every right to feel confident that he can handle being Miami’s full-time center fielder. He batted .313 with 13 homers and 36 RBI in 91 games last season. If Ruggiano kept those numbers up over the course of a full season, he would certainly be a viable center fielder. If he kept up his funny tweets he’d be a viable blog subject for years to come. Fist pound to Big League Stew
