Kevin Millwood has opted out of his contract with the Yankees, reports Buster Olney of ESPN. Millwood signed a minor league deal worth $1.5mm deal plus incentives towards the end of Spring Training if he made the major league roster. He also had a May 1st out clause if he was not on the major league roster. He reported to extended Spring Training and then to Triple-A where he saw mixed results. In his first few starts, Millwood found success but his fastball was sitting in the mid-to-upper 80's. In his last start, Millwood lasted only 2 innings while giving up seven hits on six runs which probably impacted him not being called up. But don't worry Yankee fan's, you still have Carlos Silva in Triple-A waiting for that call. Millwood in 2010, made 31 starts went 4-16 with a 5.10 ERA while throwing 190 2/3 innings. ]]>
